Home Sweet Home

It’s official!! We closed on our new house in Nashua!!!  We’ll be very busy over the next few weeks painting and moving in.  We can’t wait to actually LIVE In this beautiful home.  It didn’t take long for a couple of the neighbors to stop in and size us up…and from what we hear, we’re going to LOVE the neighborhood.  Adam is particularly excited about the house directly across from ours…When he puts his flag out, he’s brewing beer and has the men over for some time in his “man town garage” ha ha ha.  I think we’re going to LOVE living in the city!

Sun Room - This will be the boys' play room for a few years.  When they've outgrown it and only want to spend time in their own rooms, we will reclaim this space as a beautiful sun room that WE can enjoy :)
AJ’s and Robert’s rooms are going to need a wee bit of primer to cover up these BOLD colors!

Upstairs Bathroom - This is our biggest renovation project.  We will be gutting this bathroom and giving it a bit of a face-lift.  Stay tuned for the progress on this room!!
We LOVE our back yard.  It’s completely fenced in and both AJ and the dogs LOVE to explore.  AJ is particularly enamored with his own “house” in the back yard.  We were very excited to see that the previous owner left the swing set and playhouse.

In Transition…

I know it’s been quite some time since our last blog post.  We’ve been ultra busy trying to coordinate all of our exciting upcoming changes.  Since our last blog post, we’ve gone through a great deal of emotionally challenging times.  We sold our house in Webster, are in the process of buying a house in Nashua, moved to a temporary “home” in Manchester, and have had several doctor appointments for our new little bean.

On Monday, June 18th, we had an ultrasound appointment and discovered that we are having another little boy!  We are THRILLED that AJ will have a little brother and that they will be so close in age.  Both Adam and I grew up close in age to our siblings and can’t imagine any different for our little ones.  We chose the name “Robert Everett Pouliot” after both maternal grandfathers.  We know that they would both be honored for the tribute.

Another LOOOOOOONG baby? We think YES!

Already looks so much like his big brother!

I think he has those "Desrosiers" cheeks!

On Tuesday, June 19th, we packed up all of our furniture and said goodbye to Webster (well sort of…Adam had several more trips to pack up and clean up the remaining items that we didn’t get packed or thrown out before the movers got there).  As you can imagine, it was tough for Adam to say goodbye to the house he built and the home we built together for our family.  But now we look forward and are gearing up for the excitement that our new home will bring!!

For the time being, we’ve taken up residence at an apartment complex in Manchester…a rather large adjustment for all of us.

Thanks to Grammy and Pepere for watching AJ while we set up his room with all of his things to make the transition as easy as possible for him.

As you can see…it didn’t take him long to make himself “at home”.

Surprisingly, AJ has had the least amount of trouble adjusting to his new digs.  We’re on schedule with naps, night time sleep is right on target, and he’s enjoying the new “perks” of this place (wall-to-wall carpeting and mirrored closet doors).

And while we’re talking about the little guy, he had his 15 month check-up at the doctor’s office today.  We are currently weighing in at 29.5 lbs (94th percentile) and measures 32 inches tall (80th percentile).  Dr. Cramer is very pleased with his developmental progress to date and was not at all phased by “hurricane AJ” that breezed through her office.
We look forward to updating you soon when we move into our new home in Nashua!!!

A “Charming” Sunday!

The weather has been rainy and gray up in the Northeast, but last Sunday, we were lucky enough to catch a break in the weather and get some time outside to enjoy some fresh air.  Just in time too for a visit from Auntie Michelle, Emma, and Elyssa!  With the ladies in town, we decided to get together with the kiddos to enjoy a trip to the Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH! (http://www.visitthefarm.com/)
Thanks Michelle and Renee, we got some great photos that captured some oh-so-fun memories at the farm.  (Yes, we DID see animals…but the pictures are all of the real stars at the farm…the kiddos!)

We started our day with a picnic lunch.  AJ was very excited about his “Lunchable”!

A Kairos Moment

Kairos is God’s time. It’s time outside of time. It’s metaphysical time. Kairos is those magical moments in which time stands still. – Glennon

Every week it’s the same thing…I wake up way too early because AJ thinks 4:00 AM is a good time to start the day.  I give him his bottle, let the dogs out, set AJ up with some toys while I shower and get ready for work.  (He particularly likes when I use the hair dryer…he always did like the sound of it.) I pack some breakfast in the diaper bag for the little guy, dress him, then dash out the door to meet Adam at the fire station.  Then we drive the 50+ mile drive to Nashua to make the “baby exchange”…often times I notice that we pass the same cars on the highway at the same spot…but most of the time, we just make the drive.  Mornings are hectic to say the least.

This morning was different.  As we drove down the highway, I heard a very loud *S-l-uuuuuuuurp* from the back seat.  I looked over my shoulder to see AJ strapped into his carseat with one shoe on the floor, a sock on the seat, and his bare piggy toes in his mouth.  I cringed and smiled at the same time.  “AJ!  YUCK!!”  He just looked at me and gave me a BIG smile, then put the palm of his hand to his mouth and started sluuuuuuurping noisily on that.  I giggled a bit and asked him “Are you blowing mumma a kiss?!  Awww….” and so I blew a rather loud exaggerated smooch right back at him.  This sent him into a wild fit of giggles.  I’m telling you…it was ADORABLE!  He then gave ME another loud smooch.  We continued exchanging silly smooches as I continued to drive to Nashua.  But as I drove down the highway, it hit me that the world might as well have stopped in that moment.  We passed along our normal route, cars passed us, we passed cars (yes, I was driving safely), but I truly lived in that one moment with him.  In that moment, my heart was full of love and happiness.  I thought about it all day, and couldn’t help but find myself smiling ear-to-ear when I did.

I first heard of Kairos moments when I read a blog entry that my cousin posted on Facebook back in January.  It’s perfect…sums up how we should all find the little moments in life that are truly meaningful.  I recommend the read…it obviously resonated with me Smile You can read it here: http://momastery.com/blog/2012/01/04/2011-lesson-2-dont-carpe-diem/

AJ's BIG News!!!

It's a wee bit sooner than we would have liked to make the official announcement...but spring has sprung and things are growing at a rapid rate ;)  And besides....Adam might have "slipped" and let the news fly while out with the guys from the Fire department today.  AJ has some BIG news to share.
Check out his new wardrobe!!

Baby Pouliot #2 is due this November :)  We're very excited to welcome this new addition to our family!!!

I Can Do It Myself, Mom!

AJ is growing fast and learning to do all kinds of new things.  Recently, he's been trying to put his own shirt on all by himself.  I love how "proud" he looks when he thinks he's done it right :)
