Gerbil Journal

Over the last few weeks, AJ has really bloomed in his preschool II class. They are starting new learning activities including a journal. The classroom assignment was to draw the shapes in their JOURNAL as the teacher called them out. AJ might have heard differently...

Today, his work was posted on the school Facebook page with the following caption:

"Sometimes what a child hears is not exactly what their teacher says. Learning is a process. Preschool II is starting to journal, or gerbil as this student calls it."

If you look close enough, his picture on the left does actually resemble a gerbil. I knew it was his work before I even talked to his teacher at pick up today. :)

That Face!!

How can a mother not love this face??!!

Or even this one...hee hee.

First Day of the School Year

Labor day has come and gone and the new school year is upon us. Though the kids go to "school" every day while Mommy & Daddy have to work, today is the first official day of the school year at Granite Start.

AJ starts his first day of Pre-School II today. That means a whole new classroom and a new teacher. Robert continues in the one year old room for just a couple of months before he moves on up to the toddler room.

Don't they just look so handsome?!

Robert's 1st Haircut

Robert got his first hair cut in July.  It turned him from a "baby" into a little boy.  Just like his brother, he did GREAT and didn't shed a tear.  He was very proud of himself and announced to everyone he saw that he got a "hai-ar cut".

The first "snip"!

Of course, AJ got a hair cut too!

Meet Marshal

Around the same time we packed up the family for our OBX vacation, we decided to grow our family.  While we were on our vacation, on May 18th, our furry new family member was born.  In July, we drove to upstate New York to bring him home.  Everyone, meet Marshal!!
(*Marshal is a standard poodle)

Bringing Marshal Home

Boys, meet Marshal.  Marshal, meet the boys!

Robert and Marshal have a "special" relationship.

The closest I can get to a picture of all of them.  The girls are not really a fan of Marshal.  He is a stinky boy dog after all.

Marshal next to Lulu...for size comparison.  In just a few short weeks, he doubled in weight and tripled in height.
Marshal pleads with the girls for a little play time.  They reject him...again.

July 2014

Oh July.  Hot Hot HOT July.  It's never my favorite month, but we must suffer through it.  Luckily we got to spend it taking silly selfies and with cousins!

Look who can build towers (and not just knock them down)!

Robert and Emma take a break to watch a movie.

Robert's first time on a big boy bike!

He loves playing with the castle and the knights.
