A Little R&R…Well, Sort of!

Adam and I decided that a full-fledged family vacation wasn’t in the cards just yet, but we definitely needed a long weekend to recharge.  We sent AJ to Grammy & Pepere’s and we packed up the car to head off to Boothbay Harbor, Maine for the weekend where we stayed at the Boothbay Resort.

They LOOK like they are mildly relaxed....keep in mind, this was taken in the driveway!



We arrived in Boothbay Harbor just in just over 3 hours.  The dogs were very well behaved for the drive on up.  Of course, they had no idea where we were actually going...The Boothbay Resort was a wonderful pet-friendly grouping of cabins close to the downtown harbor area.  I highly recommend it if you want a little R&R with your furry friend...but only if they enjoy traveling with you.

Our vacation lasted all of four hours...we managed to capture these photos on our little jaunt into town after dropping after unpacking and setting the dogs up at the cabin.  We did enjoy a very nice lobster/crab dinner, but returned to find three very nervous dogs eager to go home.  We left first thing in the morning....*sigh* Next time, we vacation without them ;)

Time for some new threads...

As you can see...AJ is growing sooooo fast!  Grammy calls him "Baby Bam Bam".  I call him the "Incredible Hulk Baby" (especially when he wakes in the morning and he's busted open his jammies!)

Mmmm…SQUASH!!

AJ had his first taste of squash this week.  He’s just about six months old now and knew he was ready for the big time when he intently watched Daddy shovel an ice cream sundae into his mouth.  Then when grabbed Daddy’s chocolate donut right out of his hands, we decided to give it a go!

"You're Gonna Feed Me WHAT?!?!"

"OK!  I'll Give it a Whirl!"

Off to the Fair We Go!

It's officially fair season...my FAVORITE time of the year!  Adam and I are very excited to bring AJ to see the animals and get some yummy fair food.  We packed up the little guy and headed out for a very HOT day today.  We didn't stay long, but he had a good time taking in all the new sights!  I'm just glad that Daddy volunteered to take him on HIS back!  22 lbs is a lot to carry around on a 90 degree day!

Daddy just may have invented a new baby super hero!  AJ thought his new moniker was VERY funny.  His laughter was quite infectious...the laughs before Mommy finally grabbed the camera were much heartier.  But these little giggles are still fun!
