25 Hours in a Day...

...and with the extra hour, I'd for SURE get to update our blog more often!  *sigh* where DOES the time go?!  Looks like I have some catching up to do.  The last "major" post was back in April.  AJ had just turned two years old and Robbie was just five months old.   Since April, both boys have grown leaps and bounds.  I'm amazed every single day by all that they accomplish in just a short time.  Bear with me for the next few posts as I catch you up month by month on what we've been up to!

May 2013...

The month of May brought the start of beautiful sunshiny weather, more time outdoors, new experiences with the water table and swimming, wonderful Mother's Day presents from my boys, and a newfound sense of independence for AJ...including his brand new "Big Boy Bed"!

Robbie worked hard at learning how to sit up on his own...

So he kept practicing until he got it all on his own!

While AJ still wasn't super fond of having a little brother during the month of May, he did show moments of interest and brief moments of bonding.

With the nice weather upon us, we spent LOTS of time outside.  One of our many projects this year included tearing down the old shed and having a new one built for us.  AJ LOVES the new shed and has spent a great deal of time just opening and closing the door...and opening and closing the door...and well, you get it.

AJ and Robbie both LOVE being outside.  One of AJ's birthday presents was a new water table.  He's gotten a LOT of use out of it so far...loves splashing and pouring, and floating toys in it.

Aside from the water table, AJ has also enjoyed playing in his new sandbox, hanging out in his play house, and blowing BUBBLES!!! Robbie loved sitting close by and watching all the fun!  He always took it in with a big smile on his face!

 AJ also learned to pedal his bike all by himself!

 

He's growing so fast!!!

 It rained a lot this past spring too and we spent some time inside reading "the fire truck book" (groan...can't wait for this one to retire), building fire stations out of legos, and playing on Daddy's iPad.

 

 

 

 

 

AJ also took a stab at starting some new fashion trends as he's become more insistent on dressing himself and picking out his own clothes.  How can you say no to a bathing suit and rain boots?!

 

 

Among all the other big changes for AJ has he's grown in just this one month...his new "big boy bed"!  It didn't take him long to get used to it.

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day to those very important men in my life. Today is a day for YOU. I appreciate all that you are and do for me. 

Brotherly Love

I adore the interaction between AJ and Robert right now.  AJ has realized that Robbie is a PERSON…that he can do things now.  He has recognized when Robbie cries because he’s hungry, when he wants a toy, and when he’s “all done” in the jumparoo.  This moment made my heart smile.  (It always does when AJ voluntarily acknowledges his brother.)  Look how happy they both are!



A Boy and His Bike

We try to spend some time each evening as a family…taking a walk, or in AJ’s case, riding his bike.  He got a new helmet for his birthday and he doesn’t seem to mind wearing it one bit!  AJ decided that he NEEDED to take one very important item with us on this particular tour.  I laughed when I looked down to see what he had put in his basket.  We also stopped down a side street to look over Amherst Street.  This is part of Adam’s routine with the boys.  They look out across the street and point out where Pepere works.

Beautiful Weather Means Time Outside

Aaaaah spring!  Finally!!  It hasn’t gone unnoticed by the boys how nice it is outside. AJ always wants to play outside.  In fact, it’s a battle to get him to come inside (we usually have to find a crafty way (lie!) to get him to put the ball/wheelbarrow/rake/shovel/dirt/rocks down and get him to come in the house).

5 Months Old

Time sure is flying!  Robbie is already 5 (and a half) months old!  He’s growing big and strong, and continues to be a little love that completes our family.  You can really see how much he’s grown since we changed his formula. We’re no longer worried about whether or not he’s gaining any weight…it’s a remarkable difference!

AJ is really coming around about his thoughts on his little brother.  He asked me to hold him.  It's the first time I got some good pictures of them together.  Look how happy Robbie is with AJ...and AJ with Robbie.
