A Very Du-Poulio-Rosiers Vacation ~ All Good Things Must Come to an End

I think one of my favorite memories from our vacation at the OBX was taking the boys to go fly kites on the beach.  We decided that we would head to the beach after dinner to blow off a little steam. AJ was excited to see his brand new kite fly up in the air.  And Robert fully enjoyed whirling and twirling with his piggy toes in the sand.

Flying a kite is serious business!

Even the photographer should be in a picture or two. 
Hopefully she has a few of me...to prove that I was in fact on this vacation.

 

But alas...all good things must come to an end.  We left our vacation feeling wonderfully relaxed and like we had made some good memories.  We will DEFINITELY be returning to the Outer Banks (and hopefully we can stay at our Sweet Retreat).



A Very Du-Poulio-Rosiers Vacation ~ Part Deux

And now we continue our OBX adventures :)  What's a vacation without a trip to the beach?!  This was AJ's and Robert's first time at the ocean.  Both boys were hesitant about the big waves and weren't quite sure what to make of ALL THE SAND!  But they dug in and found some joy in beach activities.  The beaches on the OBX are just beautiful.  Miles of clean soft sand, warm(er) water, and DOLPHINS!  What's not to like?!

 

 

For some quieter time away from the house, we explored the light house in Corolla and the wild life preserve. I captured some of my favorite images of the boys here.  (I can't wait to frame some of these.  No...I still haven't done that either!)

What do you do when you need a break from the sun and the pool?  Head to the aquarium! 

 



AJ took on the challenge of "saving a sea turtle".

 

 

And thanks to Mom and Dad, the "grown ups" were allowed to have a kiddo-free night and enjoy a meal without having to cut food into teensie tiny pieces. 

 

 

"Grown up" night out includes delicious cocktails in a fish head and a plastic dinosaur of course.







 

And in an amazing house such as the "Sweet Retreat", you need plenty of time to just lounge around.
