“Snowtober”

The fall season is one of my favorites…bright colored leaves of yellow, orange, and red…apple pies…pumpkins…cool crisp air….22 inches of snow.  Yes, that’s right!  Mother Nature decided to drop winter on New England just a wee bit early this year.  On October 29th, we experienced a history-making snow storm that blanketed all of New England with snow cover that closely resembles that of February!  We got 15 1/2 inches of snow here in Webster and were very fortunate that we didn’t lose power.  While much of the state is still without power and heat, we’re cozy warm in front of our wood stove…enjoying all the luxuries of modern technology!!

Yes...that's right....well over a foot of snow...in OCTOBER!!!

Happy Halloween!!

Black Sheep  “Mommy had a little lamb…little lamb…little lamb.  Mommy had a little lamb whose fleece was white as snow!”   Black Sheep
AJ was THE most adorable little lamb for Halloween.  AJ’s costume was hand-sewn by his Grammy with lots of love.  (So much love in fact that she made TWO little lamb costumes because AJ outgrew the first one before he even got to try it on!)  According to his big cousin, Ryan, AJ was a “fat lamb”…or a “fat sheep”…hee hee.  Just kidding

Of course, we thought he was just so adorable, so we had to make a couple of stops to “Trick-or-Treat”.  The first stop…Uncle Brendan's and Aunt Kacey's!  Then, we moved on to the Webster Fire Station where Daddy and the members of the fire department were handing out candy.  Out little lambie was a hit among everyone!!

Thank you so much Mom for putting so much love into AJ’s first Halloween costume!  Red heart

“A” is for AJ!

While books weren’t on AJ’s radar during the first few months of his little life, they’ve suddenly stepped into forefront.  Right now, his favorite books are “The Pout Pout Fish”, “The Boston Baloonies”, and “Twinkle Twinkle, You’re My Star”.

“Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.” ~Elizabeth Lawrence

….or at least take some time to watch young children enjoy raking them into BIG piles and jumping in them….or driving their miniature John Deere tractors into them at full speed!

The DuVarneys paid us a visit this past weekend to drop off some fire wood.  Ryan was quite excited to tell his Uncle Adam that they spent all morning getting his tractor “up and running” so that he could help him move the wood around the yard.  Ryan was so very proud of his tractor and the fact that he was such a big help.  Check out some of the pictures that Renee took.

Doesn't everyone wear Carhartt to do yard work?

Loading up the tractors….and then OFF to the wood pile!!

And then of course, Daddy/Uncle Adam spent some time with each of the boys showing them the finer points of a Massey Ferguson!

While Daddy gave Ryan a lesson on how to drive the tractor, AJ enjoyed some of the finer “delicacies” that fall has to offer…

Mike was jealous that Ryan got some time on the tractor, so had to get in on his own tractor action!
