A Very Du-Poulio-Rosiers Vacation

I've been dying to post about our vacation to the Outer Banks.  I was actually waiting for a certain family photog to send the pictures she PROMISED she would take and share with the family, but it looks like I'll have to proceed with the pictures that I took myself.  (You can now blame Renee for the fact that my blog is four months blame. I now relieve myself of any guilt for not keeping up! ;-)

Adam and I decided that we would take our family on our first BIG vacation since the babies were born.  Since Mike and Renee LOVE to vacation in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, we decided to give it a go.  We rented an AMAZING house in the Currituck Club in Corolla, NC and were thrilled to have the DuVarney family and my parents join us.  This was by far one of the BEST vacations I've ever had.  It was relaxing, beautiful, and filled with memories that I'm so grateful we were able to share with our kids.

The boys did GREAT on their first long road trip! Lots of sleeping, lots of movies, and very few stops in between.

We set the bar pretty high as vacation rentals go...whoops! The house was perfect from bottom to top.  (And to get from bottom to top, it had its very own elevator.)  All those pictures and that was JUST THE HOUSE!  Now on to the activities!!

Of course we all enjoyed lounging by the pool.  AJ really enjoyed "jumping" into the pool (as long as Uncle Mike was there to catch him), and Robert enjoyed the more relaxing "float" around the pool.  I think the adults enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL weather and the ability to just SIT poolside.

I think by far, one of everyone's favorite experiences was the Wild Horse Tour.  The Outer Banks is home to wild mustangs that are of Spanish descent.  These horses roam the beaches of the OBX in protected sanctuaries.  They were absolutely gorgeous to see and breath taking to experience their life out in the wild.

Poor Robert missed all the excitement.  The Hum-V was a little too soothing for him. 

We were so excited to see horses as soon as we entered the preserve.

Ok Ok...Helene, you're right!  I've been slacking.  It's been a while since I posted anything, but I have a really really really good excuse.  We've been BUSY!  :) What can I say, these boys have us bouncing from one thing to the next and by golly, we're just plain TIRED! I took a little while to look back at my last blog post and I'm embarrassed that the last time I posted was Easter.  YIKES!! So as you can imagine, I'm going to have LOTS of updates to share.  And lucky for you, I have the perfect place to start!!

So Helen, get ready for a whirlwind ride because we need to get through two whole SEASONS of Pouliot Family adventures.  In the mean time, here's a little cuteness to distract you from the fact that I've *deprived you of all that has happened in the last four months.

Happy Easter

I just loves pending holidays together as a family. AJ and Robert discovered their love of the Easter bunny...well their love for the goodies that the Easter bunny leaves behind anyway. 

More time with Emma and Elyssa!
